Ever since childhood, PATSY RYAN always dreamed of being a country singer. But with the empty nest syndrome and on the verge of her fifth divorce, Patsy began to think it was a dream that could never come true....

Hormone Tuesday delves into the lives of five, very diverse women: Claire Spencer, Taylor Dunn, Amy Russell, Vanessa Wilkins and Patsy Ryan. Their close friendships revolve around Tuesday lunches at an exclusive golf and tennis club, even though their only game is lunch! And although their business lives are great, their private lives are nutty and hormonal. They have been friends for as long as anyone can remember, but there are still things they don't know about each other. As a group, the women seem vain, self-absorbed and beset by hormonal fluctuations, but they love and care for each other as only dysfunctional family members can, and in the end, they make a difference in one of the women's lives.

One day, Patsy becomes the topic of lunch when she doesn't show up. The group becomes worried, as Patsy never misses lunch (she even managed to show up just hours after her last face lift looking like the Mummy!). Her friends go looking for her at her palatial home, only to find her with her head in the oven. Recognizing Patsy's failed suicide attempt as a cry for help, the women realize they need to marshal their collective resources and take action to help their friend. Patsy is resistant to the intervention, but it's obvious that she can't be left alone. Each of the ladies take turns "babysitting" Patsy, until the antidepressants kick in. Each woman spends time each day involving Patsy in different activities and sharing the hidden side of her own life. Taylor, foregoes her many beaus to take Patsy shopping and get a new look; Amy exercises and does yoga with her; Vanessa uses her networking talents to provide contacts and Claire .... She supervises them all!

Patsy's friends decide the best way to help Patsy is to unleash her hidden talent is to come up with a plan to get Patsy's demo tape (made years ago when she had time to sing) to an upcoming talent audition, and they secretly submit an application on her behalf.

All in all, the ladies try to help Patsy in their own unique fashion, only to find that each gains personal insight, and discover hidden strengths and talents along the way. Though egocentric and inherently self-centered, each woman finds out how much she loves the others, as only dysfunctional family members can love one another. The women pull together and work to help Patsy "find herself", and in the process, find themselves as well.
